The combined situation

DeepSwap is the highest traffic general purpose face swap service. It markets itself for entertainment but is widely used to overlay identifiable faces onto explicit source video and imagery. When DeepSwap output appears on Bluesky, removal proceeds through the statutory takedown process under 47 USC 223a combined with source attribution to strengthen the legal claim.

Why this combination is high risk

DeepSwap is the most commonly cited face swap tool in deepfake celebrity NCII cases since 2023. The high quality output makes content particularly damaging. On Bluesky specifically, bluesky's open atproto network allows third party clients and appviews to display the same content. a removal from the official bluesky app does not always remove from third party clients.

How removal proceeds

Bluesky accepts NCII reports through its in app moderation flow and through its trust and safety email.
