HeyGen is a corporate AI avatar service marketed for business video creation. The face swap and voice cloning capabilities have been misused for impersonation and sextortion video creation. When HeyGen output appears on Bluesky, removal proceeds through the statutory takedown process under 47 USC 223a combined with source attribution to strengthen the legal claim.

Why this combination is high risk

Corporate framing means HeyGen acts quickly on misuse reports but the technology is identical to that used in higher harm services. On Bluesky specifically, bluesky's open atproto network allows third party clients and appviews to display the same content. a removal from the official bluesky app does not always remove from third party clients.

How removal proceeds
