How Bing Image Creator images differ from DALL-E outputs
Bing Image Creator uses DALL-E 3 as its generation backend, so the core pixel-level characteristics are identical. The primary difference is in the metadata: images downloaded through Bing's interface may carry Microsoft-specific metadata rather than OpenAI metadata. Some outputs carry no metadata at all. Output dimensions are the same as DALL-E 3: 1024x1024 square, or the same supported aspect ratios.
Detection signals for Bing Image Creator
The strongest signals are the same as for DALL-E 3: no camera EXIF, specific output dimensions (1024x1024 is the most common), and absent sensor noise. If Microsoft-specific metadata is present, it may reference Bing, Copilot, or Designer. The absence of any metadata at all on a perfectly 1024x1024 JPEG is a strong indicator of Bing or DALL-E generation.
Microsoft Designer and Copilot outputs
Microsoft Designer (Microsoft's Canva competitor) also uses AI generation tools and exports images with similar forensic characteristics. Copilot-integrated image generation through Office products may tag outputs with Office metadata. In all cases, camera EXIF will be absent, which remains the strongest detection signal.
