How to Report a Fake Nude on Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat (2026)

Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat are the three platforms where AI-generated and non-consensual nudes spread fastest, especially among teens and young adults. All three are covered by the TAKE IT DOWN Act and must remove valid reports within 48 hours. Here is what actually works on each.

Instagram (and Threads)

Instagram's in-app report tool routes intimate image complaints to a dedicated review queue. To use the legally enforceable path:

1. Tap the three dots on the post or reel, choose Report, then Nudity or sexual activity, then Sharing private images.
2. Submit a follow-up notice to ip@instagram.com citing 47 U.S.C. § 223a and listing every URL.
3. If the post is in a story, screen record before reporting because stories expire in 24 hours and you will need evidence.

TikTok

Snapchat

Snapchat is the trickiest of the three because most content disappears within 24 hours by design. The path:

1. If the content is in Spotlight or a Public Story, report immediately through the in-app flow.
2. For Snaps shared in private chats, you cannot file a removal request because Snapchat does not host them, but you can report the sender's account for distribution under TAKE IT DOWN Act criminal provisions.
3. Email abuse@snap.com with screenshots, timestamps, and a Section 223a reference.

Snapchat's account-level enforcement is faster than its content-level removal because most ephemeral content is already gone by the time a report is reviewed.

What All Three Have in Common
