Why this happens

Facebook tagged photographs are accessible to a much wider audience than individual privacy settings suggest because the tagging system is governed by the original poster's settings. Facebook's older photo archive includes high quality face photographs from the early 2010s era that are routinely scraped for AI deepfake training and target input.
